These holsters were the standard holster for American troops carrying the M-1911 or M-1911A1 pistol. The holster is in excellent condition. It has a full flap cover with eyelet which fastens to a brass stud on the front of the holster. The flap is embossed with the ‘U.S’ (Army) roundel. On the reverse it has a leather belt loop, secured with stitching and four brass rivets. It also has a brass wire belt hanger. There are no maker or date marks visible on the holster. The muzzle end of the holster has a brass ringed hole for thigh cord. All of the stitching & leather of the holster are clean and intact. The holster has its original period webbing belt with brass ringed adjustment holes, adjustment hook, sliders and clasp fastener. The belt is fitted with original webbing double magazine carrier with brass clasp fasteners and full flap cover. The inside of the flap is ink stamped by the maker ‘FSF’ and dated ‘8 ’18 (August 1918) together with stores code ‘1518’. The overall length of the belt (un-adjusted) is 43”.
