This is an original WW2 dated .380 calibre, Tanker's Service revolver. These 5” barrel pistols were used by soldiers in tanks & armoured fighting vehicles, spurless to minimise the chance of cocking the weapon accidently when climbing in and out of tight spaces. It is date marked, '40' (1940) with WD arrow on top of the barrel and also stamped ‘CAL .38’. The frame is marked with Enfield’s combined ‘ED’ mark and ‘1*’ designation. The pistol is serial number S8704 which is stamped on the frame and barrel block. The bakelite grips have ribbed panels. The underside of one grip has an old stable, secure chip. The pistol is fitted with Military lanyard ring. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1996 the pistol has cut and ringed cylinders & blocked barrel.
