Description

WW2 1943 Russian Army Tula Arsenal M1910 7.62x54R Calibre Maxim Gun With Flip Up Long Range Sight, 1944 Dated Wheeled Carriage, Armour Plate, 2 Ammunition Tins, Ammo Belts & Inert Deactivated Rounds**UK 2010 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** Sn 21266:14

The Maxim gun was the first recoil-operated machine gun, invented by the British inventor Sir Hiram Stevens Maxim in 1884. The weapon was adopted by the British Army in 1888. The gun's design was also purchased and used by several other European countries. The Maxim gun saw action in the Russo-Japanese War, where it was employed by the Imperial Russian Army. The weapons also saw service during the Russian Civil War, WW1, WW2 and into the 1950's. This is an excellent original M1910 7.62x54R calibre Maxim gun. Its frame has serial number 376 and it has other un-matching numbers. It is dated 1943 and has the Tula arsenal ‘arrow’ mark arrow (illustrated). It has flip up long range sight, its original wheeled carriage & armour Plate. The carriage has various numbers and inspection marks and 1944 date. The Maxim retains its original green paint. The firing handles have screw top lids which reveal space for oil within each handle. The lids have integral wire brushes. The cooling jacket of the barrel has chained plugs so water to be added to cool the barrel when firing. Included is are 2 original steel ammunition tins with hinged lids, carry handles and original green paint. One tin contains and ammunition belt loaded with some inert deactivated rounds of ammunition, the other has an unloaded link ammunition belt still in its factory brown grease paper wrapping. Deactivated to UK specification in 2010 the gun cocks and dry fires crisply & the breech cover opens. The price includes deactivation certificate. Due to the size and weight of this piece delivery will be by arrangement and at cost. Sn 21266:14
