WW2 British Made WD 42 Marked 3rd Pattern Commando Fairbairn Sykes FS Commando Fighting Knife Supplied To U.S Special Forces & Scabbard. Sn 23174:12 - 23174:12

This is an original WW2 3rd pattern Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife supplied to U.S. Army special forces such as USMC Raiders (see page 124 of The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife & Other Commando Knives By Flook). It has an undamaged ribbed and blackened alloy handle & 172 mm double edged clean steel dagger blade with medial ridge. Supplied with the correct FS blade, this blade has been period cut to stiletto form in the USA and the pommel modified. It has a blued steel oval cross guard stamped with WD arrow 42 designation (a known 3rd pattern FS mark, see page 152 of the author’s book). The guard is also stamped ‘England’ as per the British supplied FS knives supplied to USA referenced by the author. The dagger is complete with original leather scabbard with external blackened brass chape and belt loop. The scabbard retains its original 4 sewn on leather tabs & original elasticated retaining strap. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23174:12
