This is an original WW2 era, U.S Army Thompson M1 A1 SMG (see page 350 of ‘The Ultimate Thompson Book’ By Hill). It is an excellent example and its original wood stock, pistol grip and fore stock are all undamaged as is its metal work. The weapon is crisply stamped 'Auto -Ordnance Corporation, Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S.A.’ and 'Thompson Sub Machine Gun Calibre .45 M1 A1’. The weapon is serial number 350191 which is on the frame. The top of the frame is stamped with the Thompson trademark. The metal also has Thompson USA patents and ‘U.S. Property’. The Thompson has blade fore sight, and Lyman rear sight. It is complete with an original Seymour Products Co stick magazine. The weapon’s sling swivels are fitted with a ‘US’ (army) marked webbing sling. The stock has a steel butt plate with trap. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2022 the weapon’s trigger moves under spring tension, the slide moves backwards and forwards under spring tension and the magazine can be removed. Included are 2 Inert Deactivated Rounds Of .45 ACP brass cased Ammunition. The rounds load into the magazine correctly.
