This very nice silver* award or serving plate has the Luftwaffe Eagle and Swastika under 1942 and over ‘Fur besondere Bewahrung’. This tray could have been an award for outstanding service, or used as a tray at a higher ranked officers dinner party to serve hors d'oeuvres? More likely the former. Measuring; 25cm in length and 13 ½ cm at its widest point. The Eagle and swastika are raised, and the engravings are in a font conducive to its age. The edge is scrolled, and the underside has the imprint of the raised Eagle. This piece requires further investigation and would be perfect on a desk or in a mancave.
