~ An 1899 Pattern Type 32 Japanese Cavalry Sword With Scabbard ~
The sword is complete including the leather finger ring.
Japanese cavalry sabers were introduced in the late 19th Century.
The blade is machine made and marked with the pattern number '1899' on the ricasso.
The guard and the scabbard are green painted.
The hilt back strap is checkered steel.
The wood grips are also checkered.
There is a leather finger loop on the inside of the guard.
The blade has a long wide fuller running the total length of the blade.
The scabbard is made of steel with two suspension rings.
The section between the rings is covered with brown leather.
~ Condition ~
The release catch works smoothly.
The blade lost part of its chrome especially towards the tip.
There is some amount of paint loss on the scabbard and guard.
The leather cover of the scabbard is partially worn.
The scabbard has one dent on its middle section.

The blade length is 31.2 inches (71.5 cm) and the overall length of the sword in its scabbard is 37.95 inches (96 cm)
It weighs 1.56 kg.
