The BSA Mercury is a break barrel, spring powered, Air Rifle first produced in 1972 by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and then Gamo (UK) Limited. It was manufactured in .177 (4.5 mm) .22 (5.5 mm) and .25 (6.35 mm), the latter named the "635 Magnum". The Mercury was marketed between the BSA Meteor and Air Sporter models and was a light, easy to use rifle, giving a "just under legal limit UK power" of 11.5 ft/lb (15.6 J) of energy. BSA Guns England Cal .22 is printed on the barrel, and the serial No – ZB 9901 (which dates the rifle between 1974 & 1978) is printed beneath the barrel. The blueing on the barrel and cylinder is in good condition, and appears to have been re-blued. The front sight has use related marks and a hairline crack, this does not affect use. The rifle has a shrouded blade fore sight and adjustable rear sight. The rifle cocks, loads and fires with a nice tight action (9.67 ft/lbs). The stock has a beech stock and has the odd age related mark (see pictures). The price includes UK delivery.
