This is an original model 1884/98 (3rd Pattern) Nazi German Mauser bayonet for K98 rifles (see The Bayonet Book by White & Watts No.296 pages 115 & 133). It is dated '38' (1938) on the back of its blued blade. The bayonet has grooved brown bakelite grips and is stamped on the ricasso by the maker, 'Carl Eickhorn’. The reverse is stamped number '695 q'. The pommel is Waffenamt. It’s steel scabbard numbered ’9020’ at the throat on one side and by the manufacturer Herder Solingen on the reverse. The ball end of the scabbard is Waffenamt. The scabbard is undamaged with even patina and light areas of service wear. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 400
