A deactivated Italian reproduction of the Colt Paterson revolver, replicating the celebrated No. 5 Texas Holster Model — and a genuinely uncommon piece to find on the used market.

The Colt Paterson holds a unique place in firearms history as the world's first commercially produced repeating revolver, patented by Samuel Colt on 25 February 1836 and manufactured in Paterson, New Jersey between 1836 and 1842. Fewer than 2,800 originals were produced across all variants before the Patent Arms Company folded. The No. 5 Holster Model, built in .36 calibre with a five-round cylinder and the Paterson's signature folding trigger — concealed until the hammer is cocked — became legendary in the hands of the Texas Rangers and saw service through the Mexican-American War and beyond.

Italian reproductions of this model are notably scarce. Both Uberti and Pietta have produced them only sporadically, and the Paterson has reportedly been dropped from Uberti's current catalogue, leaving Pietta as the sole manufacturer — with stock erratic even from specialist importers. When reproductions do come to market they command strong prices.
