Description

Davis (or Davie) Spear Point Bowie Knife With Stag Antler Hilt & Scabbard Both With German Silver Fittings. Sn 18131 - 18131

This is a very good Victorian era spear point bowie. The 8 ¾” long, bowie has a solid curved stag antler hilt with German Silver pommel cap. It has a German Silver steel finger guard and 4 ¼” single edged, spear point steel blade, on one side it is marked at the ricasso ‘Davis’ or ‘Davie’(There is no record of any cutler named Davie in either the London or Sheffield knife books. There are no cutlers named Davis in the Sheffield Knife book and several named Davis in the London knife book). The blade has staining consistent with age and some nibbles to the cutting edge. Its original brown leather scabbard has a German Silver throat mount with oval locket & chape. All leather & stitching of the scabbard are intact. The price for this Bowie worthy of further research regarding the maker includes UK delivery. Sn 18131
