INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a rare packet of 19 rounds of .276 Peterson (7x51) Ball Ammunition Manufactured for the American .276 Peterson trials rifles by Frankford Arsenal in 1929. The Pedersen Rifle, officially known in final form as the T1E3 rifle and was a United States semi-automatic rifle designed by John Pedersen, made in small numbers for trials by the United States Army during the 1920s as part of a program to standardize and adopt a replacement for the M1903 Springfield bolt action rifle. The Pedersen rifle took 7mm rounds in a 10 round clip and was slightly less powerful than the 30-06 round then used by the Americans. The Peterson rifle was in completion to the M1 Garrand rifle which was subsequently adopted by the American Army. These rounds are contained in a 20 round segmented cardboard box. The box is printed in black 20 CARTRIDGES, BALL and in a red band on the front of the box is printed in black CALIBER .276. The box also states the cartridges were manufactured at Frankford Arsenal in 1929. The British rounds are headstamped K30 .276 (Kynoch manufactured in 1930) (14 rounds) GB 30 0.276 (Greenwood & Batley manufactured in 1930) 2 rounds, GB 0.276 (Greenwood & Batley manufactured in 1933) 1 round and Ameican FA 27 (Frankford Arsenal manufactured in 1927) 2 rounds. British rounds for these rifles are seldom encountered. The price includes U.K. delivery. Sn 17975:7
