The Midland Gun Company was an influential British firearms manufacturer established in Birmingham, England in 1889, known for producing quality shotguns and rifles, operating out of the famous Birmingham Gun Quarter. This is a double barrel sporting shotgun by the Midland Gun Company. It has 30” steel barrels. The barrels, set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib signed by the maker and with patent detail (illustrated). The gun is serial number 107393. It has its original walnut stock which has just the bumps and bruises to be expected with age and use and double triggers and hammers. The action has engraved foliate decoration. The underside of the stock is inlaid with a void white metal escutcheon and it has a ribbed horn butt plate. The weapon’s top lever break action works as it should.
