This bayonet was made by Waffenfabrik Mauser AG Obendorf in 1917. The makers name appears on the blade with a crown over ‘17’ (1916) date on the blade edge. The pommel has a small inspection mark. The grips are wood held by the correct 2 screw bolts and there is a metal flash guard on the cross guard which was introduced in C1915 to counteract the charring of the grips from the muzzle flash. The scabbard is steel & fitted with an original leather frog (see John Walter’s book The German Bayonet pages 63-71). Price includes UK delivery. BAYO 166
