WW1 1915 British WD ‘SB&N Ld’ (Sanderson Bros & Newbold Limited) 1908 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword & 1914 Dated Scabbard Regiment Marked ‘8.R.C’. Sn 20152 - 20152

This is an original British 1908 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers sword & scabbard. It has an undamaged 35 " single edged blade with fuller (43" overall). The ricasso is date marked ’8/15’ (August 1915) and fitted with leather hilt washer. It also has WD arrow & SB&N manufacturer mark which is "Sanderson Bros & Newbold". The spine has ‘08’ (pattern). The bowl guard has no visible Regiment or date marks and has original khaki paint. It has a clean undamaged chequered grip with correct thumb recess. It is complete with its original steel scabbard with fixed hanging rings. The scabbard has WD inspection marks and 10/14 date (October 1914) together with ‘8 R.C’ Regiment mark (unknown).
