This is an original, near mint, WW2 Era German Third Reich Presentation Fireman’s Axe. The axe with ebonised wood shaft measures 16 ¼” overall length and has a heavy nickel plated steel axe head with Crow Bill’s Spike securely riveted to the shaft through the axe head tangs. The shaft has a nickel plated butt cap with ball end. The axe head has cast decorative panels. One side features a fire breathing Dragon, the reverse has Fireman’s helmet with crossed axes atop a hooked ladder with scrolling fire hose. The cutting edge of the axe blade is 3” width.
