Description

This is an excellent Nazi German K98 infantry rifle. A mid Second World War Nazi K98 carbine. Dated 1941, this was the year that Mauser starting using the "byf" (byf for Mauser in Oberndorf am Neckar) coding and date stamp using just two digits 41 on the receiver ring. The receiver is marked with the correct WaA655 stamps. The rifle has an adjustable rear sight, block & blade fore sight, bayonet bar & steel butt plate. It has all original wood stock is stamped ‘346’ which has just light bumps and bruises consistent with age and service use. It has forward sling bar and the stock is slotted for sling anchor. The weapon has several waffenamt stamps. The breech also has model designation ‘Mod 98’. The weapon is serial number ‘6537’ and has other matching numbers. The weapon also has other inspection marks. Deactivated to UK specification in 2002 the rifle’s bolt and trigger move. The price includes a K98 bayonet and scabbard. The blade is in good order and the blueing is in good overall with minor signs of age related wear. The crossguard is marked with numbers ‘9924’. The wooden grips are intact and in good order. The pommel has 2 waffenamt stamps. The scabbard is marked ‘3357’ and has some minor dents front and back. The rifle comes with a 2002 UK deactivation certificate & UK delivery is included. 21393:2
