Create my profile now!This is a fine,original and undamaged, example of a propellor blade and boss from an Allied bomber; we initially thought it was from a Lancaster however it may possibly be from a Supermarine Seafire the Royal Navy version of the Spitfire. We cannot definately attribute it to a specific aircraft. What we can say is that the woodwork is in excellent condition with brass trim along the leading edge. Overall it is approx 77 inches / 197cm long, the woodof the propellor is approx 68 inches / 172 cm long. At its widest point the blade is 13 inches / 32 cm. The whole thing weighs a staggering 35 kg / 77lbs. As the postman would definately struggle with this one, delivery is by arrangement and at cost. Additional informationThe blade segment is probably off a Whitley or Wellington but there are a few references of it also being on early Lancaster Mk2s that were fitted with the Bristol Hercules XI. The same engine that was on the Wellington. It was made by Rotol ( Rolls-Royce and Bristol) wooden props division in Trafford Park Manchester. Sn 4945
