Here we have an 1830 Special Constable Police truncheon. The truncheon is made of a hardwood and has been painted from the grip and upwards. The king’s crown is painted on the truncheon for King William IV. The pommel is stamped with "Townsend Leicester".

The truncheon is 18 inches (45.6 cm) long.
The truncheon weighs 295 grams.
~ Condition ~
The truncheon is in very good condition for its age, the grip is in excellent condition with a small crack to it, the truncheon is in very good condition, it has a two cracks either side which start from near the grip and each extend about 5 inches. The paintwork is in good condition with quite a few patches of wear.
