Here we have a George III era truncheon dating between 1790-1800. The truncheon is made of a hardwood and has been painted from the grip upward up to the crown shaped tip. There is a coat of arms painted onto the truncheon which is unidentified. It has the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense” painted onto it which translates as “May he be shamed who thinks badly of it”.

The truncheon is 24.25 inches (61.5 cm) long.
The truncheon weighs 410g.
~ Condition ~
The truncheon is in very good condition for its age with some damage to the crown tip with three points missing, with some minor blemishes to the paintwork.
