Manufactured by S. Colt, 1860.
Used by both Union and Confederate forces, these legendary cap and ball revolvers are full size and weigh a hefty 2 lbs. 8 oz. The loading lever, hammer, trigger and cylinder action work like the rare, expensive originals. Manufactured with real wood grips, in gun metal grey, or deluxe blued barrel and simulated brass frame finishes.
This non-firing replica has the handling characteristics of the original, with functional lock and loading mechanisms. During the Civil War, the Union Army purchased almost 130,000 pieces of the M1860 Colt percussion revolver, making it the most-used revolver in the conflict. Enterprising Confederate armories were quick to appropriate the design and produce the piece for Southern troops. The gun was a .44 caliber, six shot, front-loader that took linen or paper cartridges. This non-firing replica has the handling characteristics of the original, with functional lock and loading mechanisms.
