The markings on its lock plate have been put there at a later date by a collector.
The barrel is stamped near the hammer with three British proof marks. To the right of the hammer there is the "Crown over G.R." mark. To the left, the lock plate is stamped "Dublin Castle". To the reverse, on the brass fitting is stamped "Pattison".
It half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
