Outdoor Hobbies sold a vintage Horton Crossbow for 2.5k see their website, it was the 'Star Wars' version.
Horton Crossbows got their start in the 1950s by Bernard Horton in Wales. Horton was a avid hunter who enjoyed archery. He began developing crossbows to help him become a more efficient hunter. Over time he would come to develop one of the most respected lines of crossbows in the world. . During its rise a fellow by the name of Rick Bednar became an influential leader in the company. Rick previously had convinced the Wales company to move its operations to the United States. Later, he led the charge in the reorganization of "Horton Crossbows" into the new entity, "Horton Archery LLC".

A contributor on there kindly sent my photos to Bernard Horton, now living in Africa and he replied with a photo of his old catalogue and iodentified it as an Imperial model and said handmade late 50's early 60's.
It is absolutely beautiful. The metal is like pale gold and you can see the handmade work in it
