The Russian made “Yunker” Junker series, made by the Izhmash Arms factory alongside the real service weapons and using a high content of original Kalashnikov parts, making it less of a “look-alike” but rather the real thing that just happens to be an airgun. Izhmash are the same folks who made Kalashnikov firearms, as well as the Makarov pistols for the Russian Military.
.
The heart of the gun was a CO2 all-in-one firing mechanism and magazine hidden inside the banana magazine. The rest of the gun was a housing and trigger/hammer for this mechanism. One CO2 cartridge and 20 steel BBs were held in place by this mechanism. Velocity was mid-range – about 250 to 350 f.p.s. There isn’t a lot of difference between this BB gun and the firearm, except that on the BB gun most of the parts serve no functional purpose
.
Good condition for age no cracks or damage but the plastic has a few marks on the butt see pics and any other marks - I shall take careful photos of :)
info below copied and pasted from the net:
An Izhmash ‘Yunker 1’ (AK-74M replica) 12g CO2 powered 4.5mm Metal BB Air Rifle.
Manufactured in the same Russian factory that makes the legendary AK 74 rifle and Makarov pistol live firing weapons is this realistic replica which is a CO2 powered air rifle using a Baikal MP 651K air pistol as the power source within the AK body.
The rifle is field strippable just like the genuine live firing version the barrel being solid metal this rifle uses the ‘cleaning rod’ tube as its actual barrel.
To load the rifle the top cover is removed, as when field stripping the rifle, the return spring and dummy bolt and piston rod are then removed allowing access to the magazine on top of the MP 651K pistol. The.4.4mm BB’s can then be loaded into the linear magazine. The CO2 bulb is inserted into the pistol grip by unscrewing plastic cap at the base of the grip which allows the grips to be removed and the CO2 is pierced by tightening the lanyard loop.
This as a good example of this now hard to find realistic replica it cocks and fires with no issues and is in good used condition.
I believe this model rifle features in the February 2022 issue of ‘Airgun World’ magazine and reviewed by John Milewski

opinion is dimpled receiver looked too full auto AK-like for Yunker rifles to be sold in the West, hence why Izhmash switched to (semi-auto) Saiga receivers after the Junker/Yunker-1 got undue attention from the U.S. ATF
