circa 1980s (possibly late 1970s),
near mint boxed condition.
Beautiful wood handle, deer shield inset, crisp blade etching and excellent lock-up.
approximately in the late 1970s to mid-1980s.
Why that date?
The Rostfrei stamp was very commonly used on imported European and Japanese stainless-steel knives during the 1970s and 1980s.
The wood handle + lockback hunting pattern + wildlife shield are very typical of knives marketed in that era.
The numbering system (26xxx series) matches other vintage Lakota examples seen from the same period.
The style predates the tactical-knife boom of the 1990s.
