This small revolver was designed to be used for self defence in the last half of the 19th Century. Concealed ramrod screws away into the bottom of wooden grips. Folding trigger, hinged loading gate, 2 inch fluted barrel, the barrels with multi-groove rifling. This revolver is fitted to the rear of the cylinder with an extremely unusual safety mechanism. (see main photo). Overall length 5 inches. In good condition showing some signs of wear and use. Action in working order. Ref 1878.
