A very scarce British Military EIC Cavalry Officer's Flintlock Pistol dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars, Dated 1804 on the lock-plate. Rounded typical brass military skull-crusher butt-cap, matching brass military style trigger-guard stamped NNV B48, matching brass fore-end cap, ramrod-pipe and side-plate. Action in excellent working order. Complete with its original swivel steel captive ramrod. The lock marked with the makers name H. NOCK and the figure 2 with a small British military crown over, the lock is also marked with the East India Government heart and EIVC. The woodwork is also stamped with the identical heart mark at the wrist. The barrel is engraved B48. The pistol in excellent overall condition. This type of heavy calibre flintlock pistol were carried by British and Colonial Cavalry officers during the era of the Napoleonic campaigns of the late 18th-early 19th century. These pistols were well regarded as being very reliable by serving British officers at the time. Overall length 15.5 inches. Good condition and in working order. Ref 2143.
