The side-plates engraved with the makers name "TWIGG" to one side and "LONDON" to the other side in a stand of arms. Flat sided butt and fine chequering to the backstrap with a diamond shaped silver escutcheon. Drop down folding trigger, sliding top safety and two London proof marks to the underside of the breech. Screw off 1.5 inch barrel. The top jaw screw is a later replacement, otherwise the action is in good working order. A few minor dings and scratches otherwise in good condition. Overall length is 6 inches. This is the type of pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the late 18th century by an English gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon.
