Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK, visit our website andrewbottomley.com. Ref no 7226. An extremely rare silver mounted English dagger circa 1680. The blade very similar to well documented plug bayonet blades of the period. The grip covered in silver bands and silver wire binding. The quillons terminating in helmeted heads. The hilt stamped with several silver marks (unclear). Nice clear armourers mark to the blade. (The mark is believed to be that of Wm. Justice circa 1644. (Thanks to Geoff Coe, Wellington, UK, for that information.) Complete with its original silver mounted leather scabbard, the silver scabbard tip has been re-fixed. Overall length 16.5 inches. Ref 7226.
