A nice small Iron ‘Katana Tsuba’ (A tsuba is a sword guard and part of a sword mounting. It is mounted between the sword's blade and grip to protect the user's hands) in a rounded square shape with a flat plate rounded rim (5mm) thick. There is a depiction of a Goose in flight to the surface. It has a lovely black iron look and appears to be early 19th Century age into ‘Meiji’ period, possibly ‘Nara school work’.
