Norfolk Constabulary was founded in 1839 under the County Police Act 1839, and was one of the first county forces to be formed. Kings Lynn Norfolk had one of the smallest rural Police constabularies. This is an excellent original WW1 wooden Polychrome decorated Police Truncheon. Made of lignum vitae tropical hard wood it is 15” length and has highly coloured original decoration in Gold, Red and Blue featuring The Kings Crown with Royal Cypher (George Rex) together with Arms of Lynn (King's Lynn, Norfolk) on a field of Azure & 3 Dragons heads erected with crosslets from their mouths together with Latin motto 'In principio erat verbum' (In the Beginning Was The Word) above '1914-1918'. It has a deep grooved grip with rounded end and recess for wrist strap. The wood is undamaged with no dents. This is an original item of WW1 British Police memorabilia to what was one of England’s smallest constabularies. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 19612
