Create my profile now!David Bentley was a Birmingham based English gunmaker recorded at New Church Street 1845-49, 55 Hockley Street 1853, various premises on Loveday Street 1855 -1863, 44 Shadwell Street 1863-71 & Tower Works Aston 1871-C1873 (see page 170 of British Gunmakers Volume 2 by Brown). This is a very good David Bentley Five shot percussion revolver. The weapon’s action works as it should in both single & double action. It has a 6” octagonal barrel (12" overall) and captive steel lever ram rod. The pistol’s bore is clean with crisp well defined rifling. The top of the frame is signed ‘D. Bentley’ and the grip frame is engraved ‘Patent No. 3208’. It's finely chequered walnut grip is in great undamaged condition. The pistol's metal work and grips have even patina throughout. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique percussion revolver no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 16465.
