A Converted Pattern 1842 Brown Bess socket bayonet with Lovell Catch by John Roe & Son of Birmingham. The socket has "5 L 113" stamped into it on the outside as can be seen in one of the phographs. The blade is 17" long and the overall length is 20.9 The inside diameter of the socket is 24mm. The socket is 3" long. The base of the blade has "B8" (Birmingham Inspection) along with "John Roe" stamped into it as can be seen in one of the photographs. The blade is in very good condition.
