This is an excellent & original model 1884/98 matching numbers German Mauser bayonet for K98 rifles. It is dated '40' (1940) on the back of it's blued blade. The bayonet has grooved bakelite grips and is stamped on the ricasso by the maker, 'Jos Corts Sn (Solingen)'. The reverse is stamped number '3470a'. The pommel is crisply waffenamt. It has its original metal scabbard with matching number at the throat. It has a very good original rivetted, brown leather frog with belt loop. The rear of the frog is dated 1938 with Lion cartouche and number '4994'. All stitching & leather of the frog is intact.
