Description
An extremely rare boxed Haenel model 26 .177 Calibre Air Pistol. Manufactured by CG Haenel, Suhl, Germanay between 1930-1939.
This is an excellent example of this Pre WWII German manufactured Air Pistol. It was basically a cheaper version of the Haenel Model 28 and features an enamelled zinc alloy barrel (with brass liner) and frame with brown wood grip plates.
This pistol is a smooth bore version with serial number ‘11157’ stamped on the heel of the grip.
The pistol retains nearly all its black enamel finish which is rare as it is easily chipped and subject to more wear than conventional blueing.
On top of the cylinder is clearly marked ‘HAENEL MOD. 26 BRIT PAT No277265 DRP’ with ‘MADE In GERMANY on the right of the cylinder and ‘CAL 4.5 m/m (.177) on the left side of the barrel. The pistol is fitted with its correct front post and rear adjustable rear sights. The wooden grips are undamaged and are like new.
