An extremely rare boxed Targ- Aire .22 calibre Air Pistol.
This pistol was manufactured by the Targ-Aire Pistol Co, Chicago, Illinois, USA from 1946 -1947. The company was taken over by the RJ Randle Ranco Tool Company and the pistols were then renamed the ‘RANCO’ and sold from 1947-1951.
This pistol was only produced for a very short period therefore making this a particularly scarce example. Rare in the USA and even rarer in the UK.
It is a variable power (three power settings) with a rear grip cocking lever. It has a blued finish the grips are made of a brown anodised alloy. It is complete with its original sights. This particalar example is in excellent nearly new condition.
This pistol is .22 Calibre smooth bore others were manufactured in .177 or .22 calibre rifled or smooth bore. The right of cylinder is stamped “TARG -AIR PISTOL CO CHICAGI ILL” and on the left is the serial number.
It is complete with its original cardboard packaging box with the label clearly detailing.

This pistol is rare and to have it’s original packaging is a real bonus. The cardboard box is all complete with minor damage to one corner that has been previously repaired. The pistol also has its original ‘Hang Tag’ with instructions printed on it although some of the text has worn off over time. A modern copy of a sales leaflet is included.
A very rare example of this early American manufactured Air Pistol.
Air guns and Air Rifles manufactured after 1939 are restricted by the Violent Crime Reduction Act as regards sale and delivery and as such the transaction must be on a face to face basis.
