A very rare boxed Haenel model 26 .177 Calibre Air Pistol which was manufactured by CG Haenel, Suhl, Germanay between 1930-1939.
An excellent example of this Pre WWII German manufactured Air Pistol which was marketed as a cheaper version of the Haenel Model 28.
This model features an zinc alloy barrel, which on this example is rifled, an alloy frame with brown plastic grips. The cylinder is blued steel. The Serial number of this particular pistol is 11717.
This version is extremely rare and desirable for collector as ones featuring the brown grips were only made for a short period and consequently are hardly ever seen.
The pistol retains a good proportion of its blued finish. On top of the cylinder it is clearly marked ‘HAENEL MOD. 26 BRIT PAT No277265 DRP’ and ‘USA Patent No1761993 ‘ Also ‘MADE In GERMANY on the right of the cylinder and ‘CAL 4.5 m/m (.177) * (the star denoting that the barrel rifled) on the left side of the barrel. The pistol is fitted with its correct front post and rear adjustable rear sights. The plastic grips are in good order with no chips or cracks
It comes with its original cardboard box which is generally in good order and with the instructions printed on the inside of the lid in English (This was an export version as examples for the home market would have been printed in German)
The box contains an original box of Haenel Air Pistol .177 Pellets which are extremely rare, a cleaning brush and two ‘Haenel’ branded paper targets and another period example.
An excellent example of this very rare variant of a Pre WWII German manufactured Air Pistol.
