The sword comes from the Hamilton White collection. It is an Oakeshott Type VII with a broad, flat and evenly tapering blade.
Oakeshott's criteria for this type (in order to differentiate from other, similar, types) are: 1) a noticeable taper and an acute point, and that the grip should be short (never of hand-and-a-half length), and 2) that the fuller should not extend further than 2/3's of the length of the blade.
The sword is fitted with a bronze pommel and it was found in Koln, Germany.

The blade length is 31.88 inches (81 cm) and its overall length is 38.58 inches (98 cm).
It weighs 1.11 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The sword is in good condition for its age with the expected surface rust. Please refer to the pictures.
The pommel is excellent due to its bronze construction.
