DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a British L159A1 practice hand grenade commonly called the Chorley grenade due to it being made at ROF(Royal Ordnance Factory) Chorley in Lancashire. The grenade has a mid-blue hard rubber body and has raised lettering PRAC over GREN. L56A1 XEL and 12 over 87 (date) within a circle. The grenade is fitted with a L134A1fuse assembly. The fly off lever is blue and is stencilled in white L134A1 CY (Chorley) 04-88 (date) 046 . The base has a hollow cavity 25mm in diameter 60mm deep.
