During the 19th and 20th Century the County and Boroughs of Derbyshire have been policed by four different Police Forces. The Forces were amalgamated into the Derbyshire Constabulary in 1947.This is a very good, male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the Derbyshire Constabulary. It has a Navy blue 2 panel body, blackened rose boss and a Derbyshire Constabulary King’s Crown blackened metal helmet night plate. The inside has a leather sweat band and leather chin strap (the chin strap has become detached on one side at some point in its life but could easily be repaired). The sweatband is impressed with partially readable manufacturer and size roundel ‘****Webb Ltd London’ & size ‘7 1/4’. There is also contemporary hand written number ‘3565’ no doubt the collar number of the Police officer who owned the helmet. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 12999
