This is a 1944 dated K98 bayonet with scarce riveted plastic grips (as opposed to screw fixed) . These were late WW2 production and this one carries the code 44 ASW denoting manufacture by E & F Horster in 1944. The other side of the blade carries the number 1391 over ee. The blade is heavily blued and is in excellent condition. The pommel carries a waffenamp (Waa619) stamp. The scabbard is marked - Click here to reveal phone number - ate) FNJ and a serial number 7338 over 1. The frog is the standard German leather one and carries the manufactures details of Wittkop and Co. Bielefeld 1940. This is a nice scarce late war production K98 bayonet in excellent condition.
