This pistol is similar to the EG No 3 model but has deluxe checkered vulcanite (hard rubber) grips.
These were sold by Charles Osborne & Co Ltd (Birmingham) from 1899 -1900 and also in 1905 and were advertised in their cataloge and described as ‘superior nickel plated air pistol, covered spring, vulcanite stock, fitted in black velvet lined case, with supply of slugs and darts’
This example is in good original nickelled condition and functions without issues.
This pistol comes with its original leatherette hinged box with velvet lining complete with a number of darts, original tin of period pellets, a cleaning rod and a tin plate target. These pistols are rare and to have a cased example in such good condition makes this a nearly unique example.
