The British Bren Light Machine Gun was introduced in the 1930's and used extensively by British & Allied Forces throughout WW2. Bren Guns were produced predominantly in Britain, Australia & Canada. This is an original WW2 dated British WD Enfield made .303 Calibre MK 1* Bren Light Machine Gun spare barrel deactivated to UK/EU specification. The barrel has its original wood carry handle & winged fore sight. The barrel has several numbers ordnance inspection and WD arrow together with Enfield combined ‘ED’ marks, ‘MK1*’ designation and ‘41’ date (1941). The barrel is carried in its spare un-issued condition webbing spare parts satchel with carry handle and pouch pockets all with flap covers and brass buckles. The satchel is ink marked by the manufacturer which appears to be ‘CB Ltd’ together with WD arrow and 1942 date. The satchel contains original tools which consist of 2 wood cleaning rods , 5 wire brushes, one with an armourer’s stores label hand written ‘223393=1 brush ’, a brass pull through with cord which has a hand written armourer's stores label ‘22303311 =1 pull through and a brown paper packet with printed label ‘223214 Gauze Qty 1 State1 BE/7/71’.
