A WW1 Imperial German model 1898/05 butcher sawback bayonet with sawback officially removed, manufactured by F. Herder Solingen complete with leather scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet has a single edged blade which widens towards the point. It's saw back blade has been officially removed. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer 'F. Herder A. Sn. Solingen'. The spine of the blade is stamped 'Crown W' & dated '15' (1915). The reverse of the ricasso is stamped with a crown and 'Amberg'. The blade measures 14 1/2" long and is clean. The bayonet has a steel swept quillon, correct 9 groove wood grips and steel pommel. It is complete with original leather scabbard which has manufacturers stamps on the throat and a polished steel chape and brown leather frog. Price includes UK delivery.
