Description

INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a link of three Experimental British Radway Green made DUMMY 30mm Aden (30x86B) rounds. The German Mauser company was developing the Mk 213 aircraft revolving canon near the end of the WW2. The MK213 was developed was developed in 2 calibres, one in 30mm utilising the 30 x 85B cartridge in 20mm utilising the 20 x 135 cartridge case. After WW2, the gun was developed by the British calling it the ADEN (Armament Development, Enfield) cannon. Two rounds were developed in 20mm and 30mm. All the rounds had the same overall length. The 30mm rounds were developed with two case lengths, one with a 86mm belted case called the Low Velocity with was a shorter case and a bigger projectile. The other had a 110mm belted case and this was called the High Velocity round with a longer cartridge case and a shorter projectile which had a higher velocity. As a result of the trials, the longer cased high velocity round was adopted. This gun was fitted to various aircraft including the Hawker Hunter, English Electric Lightning and the Harrier. This is a link of three British ADEN LOW velocity drill rounds. The brass cartridge cases are headstamped in the belt.J.30MM. RG.52 (Radway Green manufactured in 1952) and DUMMY on the base. The rounds have drilled empty primer pockets. The rounds each have a pressed steel link, two are marked on the back M.K.1 D.S. The other link is stamped E T FRENCH MANCHESTER. The price includes U.K. delivery and no licence is required to possess these inert rounds in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. 19966:4
