The E.O.K.A ((National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters) was a Greek Cypriot nationalist guerrilla / terrorist organisation that fought a campaign for the end of British rule in Cyprus, for the island's self-determination and for eventual union with Greece during the 1950’s. ( 'One man's Terrorist is another man's Freedom Fighter') This is an original, scarce, inert deactivated, improvised / home made fragmentation hand grenade as used by the E.O.K.A. The cylindrical steel casing has deep cut segmentation squares. The filler plug and brass fuse assembly with original ring pull can be dismantled. The front of the grenade has a paper label applied at some point in its life with typed information ‘A Home Made Hand Grenade Complete With Groove Ready For Despatch to The Communist Terrorist Organisation’.
