Create my profile now!INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an excellent, original, WW2, 1943 dated Mills No.36M MK 1, hand grenade. The 36M refers to the pattern of Grenade 36 M originally 'Mesopotania' and the fact they were waterproofed. The grenades body retains some of its original varnished finish and retains some of its original green filing ring signifying amatol as an explosive and red crosses at the top signifying filled with explosive. The back of the grenade has the mould marking 5X cast into it and is fitted with a brass filler plug. The zinc base plug is marked 'No 36M Mk 1 Z and WD over C. the base also has 11/43 (date) stamped into it and 44 on a circle. The fly off lever is stamped S.C & CO. The inner primer holder has cast into it Z (zinc), 43 (1943 date) and W in a circle. The price includes UK delivery and no licence is required to possess this inert grenade in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. O 1753
