It saw widespread use in the American Civil War and on the American Western frontier. The Colt design lives on today in the form of quality live firing pistols true to the original Colt pistols, from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta and Euroarms. This Euroarms manufactured example of the Colt Navy revolver which was also retailed by Euroarms as the 'Sherrif Model' is in very good condition. The pistol has a 4 ¾” blued 2 stage steel barrel and measures 11" overall. The barrel is crisply stamped by the maker ‘Euroarms Brescia’, ’36 Cal Navy Model’ and 'For Black Powder Only Made In Italy'. It has a brass grip frame, blued frame & fluted cylinder. The pistol has polished wood grips. The pistol is serial number 36181. Deactivated to UK specification in 2010 the pistol cocks and dry fires crisply, its cylinders are open and the barrel is blocked near to the breech (not visible when looking at the muzzle).
