Create my profile now! This is a very good WW2 era Japanese Officers Sword & scabbard as found and un-messed with. The sword has a fish skin handle bound with brown cord. It has its original copper and brass fittings including tsuba and floral menuki. The pommel is fitted with original cord and dog tag impressed with Japanese script characters, no doubt those of the original Officer who owned the sword during WW2 (it was common practice for Soldiers surrendering their swords to affix their dog tags or some other identification in the mistaken hope that post war the allies might return their swords to them). The tang is signed by the sword smith ‘Noshu Seki Ju ?????? Sada Mitsu (we are in the process of having the full signature translated. The translation will accompany the sword). The original 24 ¾” blade has oil tempered wave hamon (the hamon is visible but would benefit from a professional polish to bring out its full form & lustre). The sword measures 35 ¾” overall length. It is carried in its wood scabbard with single hanging ring. The scabbard is fitted with its original leather field combat cover with a single brass stud near to the throat. All leather and stitching of the cover are intact. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 14355
