This is a great example of a German NCO's M1871 Sawback Bayonet and Scabbard. It has a single edged 19" straight blade with sawback. The blade is etched to both sides with foliage and stand of arms panels. The ricasso is marked by the manufacturer 'A. Bernhagen, Berlin' & it is fitted with original leather hilt washer. It's crossguard with muzzle ring has hook quillon. It has a brass grip which is grooved on one side & bird beak pommel. The bayonet is complete with original brass mounted leather scabbard. The upper mount of the scabbard is functional but slightly loose so care should be taken when drawing or sheathing the bayonet. Price for this rare example includes UK delivery. ED 2196.
